Austin High School Girls Lacrosse 

Player Scholarship Request 
2011/2012 Season 

Background 
The Austin High School Girls Lacrosse Team is a club sport that 
does not receive administrative/logistical support from the school 
Athletic Department or the district. The cost of operating the 
program is funded through fees collected from the players, 
contributions and fund raising. In order to ensure the experience of 
playing lacrosse is available to as many young men as possible the 
board has adopted policy and procedures to allow for the issuance of 
scholarships to potential players who have a demonstrated need for 
assistance. 

Policy 
The Austin High School Girls Lacrosse Team will offer a limited 
number of full and partial scholarships, in the form of waiving all or 
part of the registration fee. The Austin High School Girls Lacrosse 
Team Board will review all scholarship requests. The Board will 
determine scholarship eligibility and amount on a case by case 
basis. Factors to be considered in the determination include but are 
not limited to: 

• Financial status of the organization 
• Information provided on the scholarship request form 
• Number of requests received 
• Coaches assessment of player potential 
Note: All information received on the Scholarship request form will 
be kept confidential. 
The parents/guardians of players who receive scholarships, as well 
as the players will be expected to fully participate in all team 
fundraising activities. Failure to fully participate in fundraising 
activities may result in future requests not being considered. 


Procedures 
A potential player interested in applying for a scholarship will be 
required to complete the Scholarship Request form and must be 
signed by the parent(s)/guardian(s) of the player. 

The form must be submitted to the Club President as early as 
possible but not later than October 1, 2011.

Late request forms may not be considered. 

The Austin High School Girls Lacrosse Team Board will meet and 
consider all timely requests and make the final determination, by 
majority vote, of the eligibility and amount of scholarships to be 
awarded. 

The Club President or Vice President will notify all potential players 
and their parent(s)/guardian(s) who requested scholarships as to the 
determination of eligibility and amount.
